People with disabilities share the moving ways their partners show love for them

Actions speak louder than words — particularly when those actions show just how much you care about a person.  People with disabilities have been sharing their partners’ actions that show them just how much they’re loved — actions that are “different from the way abled people show love.” Get the tissues at the ready, you’re...CONTINUE READING

The email problem no one is talking about: mistaken identity

This post is part of Me, online, Mashable’s ongoing series digging into online identities. In 2009, a San Francisco web strategist named Tim — last name withheld for reasons that will become clear — opened his Gmail to find a message from a Build-a-Bear workshop in St. Louis. The email was addressed to someone called...CONTINUE READING

You haven’t heard of this masculinity movement, but it’s exactly what men need right now

You can’t fault Jeffrey O’Brien for feeling frustrated.  The past few months have brought a deluge of headlines about violent and abusive aspects of stereotypical masculinity, but few of those stories have mentioned what O’Brien, an expert in gender violence prevention, knows to be true: The decades-long movement to help boys and men liberate themselves...CONTINUE READING

Newly designed Pride flag is far more inclusive for 2018

Most products from the 1970’s — green bean jello, lettuce molds— don’t deserve a reboot. The rainbow Pride flag might be the lonely exception. Portland designer Daniel Quasar recently launched a Kickstarter for his newly designed LGBTQ Pride flag.  Quasar has crafted a flag featuring multiple new colors, each representing a gender identity/sexual orientation, as...CONTINUE READING
